First grade students at Bethel Elementary had a unique task during the month of April. To celebrate Earth Day, students were asked to create an item out of recycled materials. If possible, this creation should be something that could be used for a new purpose. As usual students went above and beyond with their imaginations! Wind chimes, bird feeders, a guitar, a file box, a trash can, and a planter were just a few of the amazing recycled items students brought into school. These creations were completely constructed out of recycled items like egg cartons, plastic bottles, cereal boxes and much more. Everyone really stepped up to the challenge and designed some truly unique pieces learning in the process that recycling is important to save the planet and can be lots of fun!
