Book of the Month… “The Best Story”

Dear Students,

I am so excited to share the first “book of the month” for this school with you! This book, The Best Story, is one that promotes something we will be working on as a school this year… writing! Students, not only do I want you to LOVE reading and wear that love for reading on your shirt sleeves, but I also want you to grow in reading like a writer and writing like a reader! THAT is what we are going to work on this year at Bethel Elementary!

You all have stories to tell and the very best stories come from your heart… from your life experiences and no one knows those stories like you do.

To recognize the amazing writing we have all over the building, every class will begin “spotlighting” one student’s writing each week on a poster just outside each of our classrooms… our SPOTLIGHT ON WRITING!

Please use this book with your narrative writing and as you talk about “voice” in your writing this year.

I hope you enjoy the Book of the Month as much as I have and may it inspire you to write The Best Story ever!
