Bethel Elementary fifth grade students graduated from their DARE program on Tuesday, December 20th. The DARE program teaches students how to make decisions, handle stressful situations and strategies for resisting drugs and alcohol. During graduation, students were recognized for their accomplishments in completing the 10 hour course with their instructor Deputy Heidi Warren of the Haywood County Sheriff’s office, completing their DARE planners, conducting an interview with an adult about a time they were helped in a situation, and writing an essay about topics they learned about during their time with Deputy Heidi.
