Thank you to everyone for your patience and kind words as you came through the school work drive thru this morning. Please give your child a big hug from all of us! It was so hard to not reach in the car window and give them high five or let them get out so we could love on them. If you weren’t able to pick up your child’s work today just come by and ring the doorbell and we’ll get it to you. Parents of students in 3rd-5th grades can still check out a Chromebook if one is needed.
This whole “distance learning” thing is new to us and we’re learning everyday. As we continue down this school closure path…and who knows exactly how long that will be…we will be in contact with each of you on a regular basis. Please ask questions and share concerns about your child; that’s why we’re here. We will all get through this together and will come out on the other side as better people because of it.
I got an email earlier today with these instructions regarding how to access books online from the public library. Hope it’s helpful. Hang in there:)
Go to haywoodlibrary.org
Click on eResources tab
Scroll to Tumblebooks
No library card needed. Great resource for story books, read alongs, eBooks, graphic novels, nonfiction, videos, language learning, puzzles & games.
This would be the best resource to start with for elementary aged kids especially since it’s no library card needed as long as you access it through our webpage.
