Dr. Nolte issued a press release Monday regarding the potential for bad weather Wednesday night into Thursday morning and how that would affect our school schedule for the rest of the week. It’s a bit confusing, so I’m going to give all the possible scenarios and how each would change the schedule.
1. If we have NO wintry weather OR the wintry weather happens Thursday evening into Friday morning, Friday will be a Remote Learning Teacher Workday (as is already in the schedule).
2. If we have wintry weather Wednesday night into Thursday morning that is bad enough for us to miss Thursday and Friday, then both days will be Remote Learning Teacher Workdays.
3. If we have wintry weather Wednesday night into Thursday morning that is bad enough for us to miss Thursday but clears up enough for us to come to school on Friday, then Thursday will be the Remote Learning Day and Friday will be an in person school day.
Teachers will be sending home work for both Thursday and Friday, just in case. Remember that a Remote Learning Teacher Workday is one in which there is no live instruction; students are counted present if they turn in the work that is sent home for that day(s).
For remote students, an “in person” day means live instruction and a Remote Learning Workday means no live instruction, only assignments.
Please read over this a few times and then send me an email asking for clarification if it is still confusing.
