KARE Program
Just a reminder that the KARE (Kids Advocacy Resource Effort) staff will be presenting their child safety program during guidance classes this week. A letter went home in each child’s backpack a couple of weeks ago explaining this program

The t-shirt sale sponsored by our Student Council is wrapping up. The deadline for orders is this coming Friday, 3/4.
Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year is coming up in a couple of months. The BES day/time is Tuesday, May 3, 6:00-7:30 pm.
Friday, 3/4, is a 12:30 dismissal…Don’t Forget!!
Spring Benchmark Assessments
Students in grades 2-5 will be taking their spring benchmark assessments the weeks of March 7-11 and March 14-18. These assessments are much like the End of Grade tests will be for our students in grades 3-5 at the end of the year. We give them for a couple of reasons:
1. They are good EOG practice for our students in grades 3-5 and they give the 2nd graders their first experience with this type of assessment.
2. We use the data to see which concepts and standards our students have and haven’t yet mastered and we plan our lessons for the rest of school year with that in mind.
It is very important that students be on time all the time, but especially when we’re testing because all the students need to start the assessments at the same time.
One Final Thing…
Please remember that school begins at 7:50 am. Even though the tardy bell doesn’t ring until 8:00 am, if your child consistently comes in between 7:50 and 8:00, he/she is starting out their day feeling behind each day. I encourage you to make every effort to make sure your child is here no later than 7:50 am. It will make a difference in the way their day begins and being on time is a great life lesson to learn at a young age.
