Thank You to our Law Enforcement

I am appreciative of our Haywood County law enforcement for quickly arriving at school this morning and doing a thorough check of our school to make sure the building was safe. As Dr. Nolte’s message said, the threat was directed toward another school…NOT Bethel…but there were things in the wording of the threat that made checks at other schools a priority as well. Our law enforcement arrived at the school and checked our building quickly and without causing panic or fear for our students and for that, I am so very grateful. Your child may not have even known that anything out of the ordinary was happening, except perhaps that they had recess at an odd time this morning.

Duke Energy Science Night

We were so pleased with the great turnout for our STEM night this past Monday with 199 students and their families being represented. There were lots of smiles and laughter…and maybe there was even some learning going on:)

Events like that and the families who are so willing to show up and be involved are a big part of what makes BES a great place to be.

Thank You…Again!

We would like to say thank you to the parents who park at the bottom parking lot and walk up to get your child in the afternoon car line. Since the phone message went out a few days ago, this has gotten much better and we all feel like we are keeping the kids safer.

Please just continue to write your child’s name on the list on the clipboard and wait until their name is called and/or a staff member brings the child out or releases them to you.

This takes just a moment more, but is so much safer for all the students.

This Friday, April 8 is a 12:30 dismissal and next week is SPRING BREAK!

Students return to school on Monday, April 18.

There has been a slight school system calendar change at the end of the year. The last student day will be Thursday, June 2.

Kindergarten Registration Reminder

Please let everyone you know who has an uprising kindergartener who will be enrolling at BES that our registration process starts on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:00 pm here at BES.
