Friday Fun Night on April 29
Permission slips for our upcoming Friday Fun Night have been sent home with each student.
Please read the information and return the bottom portion of the slip with payment no later than next Wednesday, April 27 so our wonderful PTO folks can order enough food.
Please call Mrs. Hollingsworth, Mrs. Watson, or Mrs. Cavner if you have questions about Friday Fun Night or if you’d be willing to volunteer at the event.
Spring Book Fair is next week, April 25-29
Book fair week is a busy and fun time at BES!
Please see the info sheet that came home in your child’s bookbag.
Items of note:
1. Breakfast with Mom doesn’t necessarily have to be Mom. Any adult who wants to come have breakfast and go to the book fair with the student is welcome. If possible please come on the day that corresponds with your last name, but if that is not possible just come on any of the breakfast days. We will certainly not be checking IDs to make sure folks are here on the “right” day.
2. Students will all have an opportunity to go to the book fair and shop during the school day. If parents or grandparents want to come to the book fair, they need to come to breakfast or their Family Read Day time. Parents and other adults cannot just show up at school on a random day at a random time and get their child out of class to go shop in the book fair. Teachers are teaching (K-3 teachers are actually giving end of the year mClass reading assessments next week) so we must keep the interruptions to a minimum and follow the set schedule.
2. On Family Read Day (Thursday), you must come at the time that is specified for your child. Please read the flyer for more info.
Thank you in advance for helping us have an awesome book fair week!!
Summer Camp Applications Now Available
Summer camp (this is the summer version of the after school program, NOT academic summer school) applications are now available in the office. Please either send the teacher a message or call the office and request that an application be sent home with your child.
One change this year is that a $50 non-refundable deposit is required when the application is turned in. This deposit holds the slot for the child and will also be applied to the cost of field trips as they happen in the summer. If this deposit is a problem, please call and talk to Mrs. Hollingsworth.
Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year will be on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:00 pm. Students do not necessarily need to be at this event. This is more of a time for us to gather contact information from parents and provide information about what comes next in getting the students ready to be enrolled in kindergarten.
Please share this information with anyone you know who lives in the Bethel district and has an uprising kindergarten student.
Teacher Appreciation Week May 2-6
We include all of our staff in our festivities and events during this week, but it is technically Teacher Appreciation Week. Our folks at BES are top notch and go above above and beyond everyday for our students. A hand written note or small gesture of appreciation will give them the fuel they need to finish this school year strong. I will be first in line to shout from the mountaintops how much I appreciate each person who works so hard to make Bethel the Best!
On a side note, our academic growth as an entire school last year was awesome so we had a little celebration today with a cake from Kandi’s. Nothing says “Thanks for your hard work” quite like a Kandi’s cake.
