Parent Newsletter December 13, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us to collect 5,534 canned food items for needy folks in our area. Our winning classes who will receive a pizza party are Ms. Cantrell’s 1st grade class who collected 1,009 items and Mrs. Warren’s 3rd grade class who collected 1,359 items. It’s as big a blessing to give as it is to receive…thank you for instilling this in your children.

Just a reminder of our family lunch coming up on Thursday, 12/22 for our 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade families.

3rd grade eats at 10:30 am, 1st grade at 11:30 am, and 5th grade at 12:30 pm.

We need volunteers to help in the cafeteria on this day. Perhaps if your child is in kindergarten 2nd, or 4th grade, you might like to help us out on this day. If you’re interested in volunteering just send me an email at hhollingsworth@haywood.k12.nc.us

We will also be selling Bethel Bypass “chances” during lunches on this day and the winners will be drawn on Friday, 12/23.

On Friday, 12/23, at 8:15 am in the gym we will be having a “Growing as Leaders” recognition program. If your child is being recognized on that day, you have received an invitation. All students will be attending the program that morning. The students who are being recognized during this program are in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, but it is important that our younger students see what types of opportunities for leadership lie ahead of them at BES.

Please remember that this day is a 12:30 dismissal.

Our Lost and Found is housed just inside the gym and it is overflowing right now. If your child has lost a coat, jacket, sweatshirt, etc. please come in and check the Lost and Found between now and Friday, 12/23. Whatever hasn’t been claimed by the afternoon of 12/23 will be donated to a local charitable organization.
