So Close…

Our fund raising efforts have been very successful this year, but we are still a little over $10,000 shy of having the amount we need to be able to fund our computer teacher again next year. If you know of a business who would like to help us in this endeavor, please give them my contact info or get me in touch with them somehow. If you have any late spring/early summer fundraising ideas, we are open to those suggestions as well. We have not given up hope that we will still be able to have this opportunity for our students again next year. All help is appreciated!

Yearbooks

Yearbooks were handed out last Friday. We have a limited number of extra books for sale. They are $25 and we will sell these on a first come, first served basis. No holds. Cash or check made payable to Bethel Elementary School.

End of Grade Tests

We start our EOG tests this Friday with 5th grade Science. Our 3rd-5th graders take their Reading EOG next Tuesday, May 23, and Math EOG next Thursday, May 25. There will be testing going on every day beginning this Friday and lasting until all are completed. The fewer make ups we have, the earlier all testing will be finished. It is VERY important that students are on time to school and are not checked out early during EOGs. We are bound by a ridiculous amount of rules and regulations when it comes to these tests and it makes things go much more smoothly for everyone involved when all the students are present and on time on EOG days. Thanks in advance for helping us with this!

Awards and 5th Grade Promotion

Our 5th grade promotion ceremony will be on the morning of Friday, June 2 in the gym. This will be in person only.

Grades K-4 will have grade levels awards in the auditorium (or parents can log on and watch online) on Friday, June 2 on the following schedule:

Kindergarten: 10:00 am

1st grade: 12:30 pm

2nd grade: 11:45 am

3rd grade: 11:00 am

4th grade: 1:15 pm

A link to watch online will be shared with parents a few days prior to the awards.

The following are the awards that will be given out during these awards times:

Blue Paw Awards: K-4

Perfect Attendance: K-4

Elite Fitness: K-4

Best Citizen: K-4

Rock Star Award: one student in K-2 and one student in 3-5

Student Council: 3rd & 4th

Battle of the Books: 4th

Special Olympics: 3rd

For a few of these (Blue Paw, Battle of the Books, Special Olympics, Student Council) you know that your child will be receiving recognition so go ahead and make plans to attend if you so desire. For the other awards, a staff member will be reaching out to you to make sure you know that your child will be receiving recognition so you can make plans to attend.

No School on Monday, May 29 as we celebrate Memorial Day.
