Hat Days for a Good Cause🎩👒🤠🧢
Every Friday in September
As many of you know, here at the beginning of the year, two of our families have faced major tragedies. One 3rd grade student is continuing to heal at home from multiple injuries she sustained on the first day of school when she was involved in a car accident that took her grandmother’s life. Also, another third grader is improving each day, but has a long road to go at the Augusta Burn Center, along with his mom, who saved his life from their home that caught fire and burned to the ground, causing them to lose everything. Thankfully, the older brother in 4th grade made it out safely and is staying with family members during this time.
The Bethel community is so caring and wonderful – especially during times of need. Our school has done several things for these families, but we wanted to do something collectively as a school. Each Friday in September, students can donate $1 and wear a hat to school. They don’t have to wear a hat to donate to this fund, but it will be a fun way to collect money to help both of them with medical expenses and things they may need during this difficult time.
Speaking of hats, students can wear their hats to school, during recess, and for special occasions like hat days or earned rewards from their teachers, but when they are in the building, unless a teacher gives them permission to wear them in their classroom, they will be asked to take them off. Thank you!
