Classroom teachers are mailing letters or postcards to students this weekend. If your child hasn’t received a letter or postcard in the mail when you check your mailbox this coming Wednesday, call and we will tell you who their teacher is.
We will be having our Meet the Teacher event on Friday, August 13. First and second grade students and parents are invited to come between 8:00 and 9:00 am. Third, fourth, and fifth grade parents are invited to come between 9:00 and 10:00 am. We divided the times up because we have a very large school and when everyone comes at the same time, it’s a LOT of people. If you have children in both time slots, just come toward the end of the first (around 8:45 and then blend right into the other time slot at 9:00). This is the last day teachers have to get ready for school to start on Monday, August 16, so please don’t come outside of these time slots. If we have parents and students trickling in all day long the teachers will not be able to finish their preparations for the first day of school.
Kindergarten students and parents will not get a teacher letter and don’t need to come to Meet the Teacher because kindergarten students have not been assigned to a specific teacher yet. Teachers will be assigned after Kinder Camp. Kinder Camp days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, August 17-19. If you can’t remember which day your kindergartener is supposed to come to Kinder Camp, please call and we will remind you.
School for students in grades 1-12 in Haywood County begins on Monday, August 16. That day is an early dismissal at 12:30.
