Students at Bethel Elementary School were rewarded with a visit from Norman’s Ice Cream Truck on Tuesday, October 6th for meeting their Summer Reading Goals. For the past few years, the school library has opened one day a week throughout the summer so that students would have no excuse for that summer reading “slide”. Parents are encouraged to bring their children by the library at least five times during the summer to check out books, and students are required to keep track of the books they read. BES has seen tremendous support of this program, and the proof is in the ice cream! Classic Ice Cream Truck music rang through the halls as 125 students were allowed to visit the truck for a cold treat!
