Olympic Silver Medalist, Lauren Tamayo, visits BES!

Bethel Elementary students who participated in the summer reading program had quite a surprise Tuesday! Olympic Silver Medalist in the 2012 London Olympics, Lauren Tamayo, dropped by to visit. She congratulated students for meeting their Olympic reading goal for the summer. She shared her experiences in London and what it was like being in the Olympics. Students were “wowed” when she pulled the silver medal from her bag. She shared this story with them… “In my senior yearbook, we were asked what was our dream for the future… My caption was that I wanted to be in the Olympics one day. My dream came true!”. Reading truly takes you places, dream big!
